Katie & Berard, 2018

April 12, 2018

The first of the 2018 wedding season started with Katie & Berard. Their ceremony was held at The Loggia Room, York House and their reception at The Antoinette Hotel, Kingston upon thames.

York House provided the most stunning grounds with beautiful gardens resting on the bank of the river thames.

"We recently had the pleasure of using Emma and her husband as our wedding photographers and we would highly recommend them!

They are very professional and efficient and we even had compliments from the guests about how hard they worked during the ceremony and reception."

I asked Katie for a few words of wisdom and inspiration from her big day:

Can you describe your wedding in fewer than 10 words?

Our wedding was exactly what we’d planned for, it was perfect.

Where did you find your suppliers? ( Blogs, magazines, referrals)

Referrals, google area search, recommendations, Facebook, wedding fayres.

Which element are you glad you spent more on?

Glad we spent more on photography and cake.

Crafts and makes - tell us about any handmade elements of your wedding?

Sooooo much was handmade by me, signage, name cards, table cards, photo booth frame etc. We saved a lot of money this way :) and if you’re sentimental, it’s nice to make/get a couple of personalised bits with your names on like guestbook, jewellery, ring box etc.

Words of wisdom, your best piece of advice for other couples.

My advice for other couples would be, definitely invest in a decent wedding planner organiser (mine was from Kiki K and it was perfect!) as organisation is key for a big event like this.

Think hard about location and how big/small you want your day. It’s just 1 day so isn’t worth a massive expense.

Also only invite people you are happy / comfortable with as it’s YOUR day and you are paying for all the guests.

Places like ASOS were a lifesaver for cheaper alternatives for bridesmaid dresses and accessories.

Ask your Bridesmaids for help, don’t feel like you have to do it all yourself (even though it’s tempting!).
