"Photograph" is derived from Greek - the Greek word "phos" means "light." and the word "graph" meaning "to draw."
Essentially photographs capture a split second of a moment, emotion, individual, couple, group.
This infinite memory frozen in time, developed onto a blank canvas of paper or now more commonly a screen or media post, is what captivated me from a young age to the art of photography.
Life moves fast. Moments pass. Photographs hold that moment.
I never thought I would have the confidence to not only share my images as extensively as the modern world has us, through social media but also to put myself at the forefront of someones special day, namely their wedding!
My first proper wedding was back in 2015, by proper I mean full on bridal preperations, the ceremony, venue, speeches, first dance the lot. In future posts I will share more of that day and how It felt to shoot my first ever wedding, what I learnt and why I chose to shoot a wedding when I said I never would!
As I have said, I learnt alot from my first wedding not only about my camera but myself and this blog is to share my journey from amateur to part time professional - I still currently have a full time job in administration - and I'm hoping to share how I have slowly and surely built up my small business, tips I have come across and found useful, venues I have worked at, suppliers I have worked with and so on.
Please support my small business by feeling free to comment, share, critique anything you read or see and I hope you enjoy reading my blog along the way.
